Swamped
I’ve been swamped in university, work, and many other little projects lately. High time to write something in this blog again! Obviously I’m still looking forward a lot to my big trip - which will already start in like a month and a half or something like that. Everyone I speak to about my holiday in Central America seems quite envious. And everybody who’s already visited that region says nothing but good things. It all looks very promising
As turns out a friend of mine is flying to Central America just a few days before I do as well, to help out in some sort of volunteer program on the Mexican coast. Would be cool to meet up with him for a few days in the early days of my trip.
Anyways, there are still a number of big things that have to get done soon. This is the stuff that comes to mind right now:
- Get travel vaccinations & info on malaria
- Check travel insurance
- Find someone to rent my room to for the summer
- Compose a packing list
- Buy necessary gear / clothes
- Buy a guidebook on Central America
- Book my hostel for the first few nights in Mexico City
- Brush up on my Spanish
This list will probably grow to humongous sizes as my holiday comes closer… :/
Ah well, I’m sure everything will turn out to be okay. As I also recently mentioned in the backpackers forum, I have no clue so far as to which countries I’ll be visiting, what my route will look like, etcetera. The only thing I know for sure is that I’ll be flying into Mexico City and out of Guatemala City two months later. The road will unfold itself along the way I guess..
